I realize this blog is about Primitive Home Decorations, but I have some very exciting news! I have just become a GRANDPA for the first time!
Monday the 18th, little Kyle came into our world and I could not be more excited! Everything went great and mom and baby are doing wonderful. I am so very proud and I have been looking forward to being a “Papa” since I found out my only daughter was pregnant. I know we have many wonderful times ahead of us!
How many of our blog readers out there are grandparents? Feel free to share your stories!
In our last post, Newly Remodeled Bathroom with Primitive Decorations, I spoke about our trip to Floyd, VA where we stayed at the Cottage On Main during a weekend getaway to a wine festival. The owner of the cottage is an artist and they have some beautiful paintings and many other unique pieces throughout the cottage and property.
Even though the cottage wasn’t decorated with Primitives per say, there were some very interesting pieces that caught my eye, one being an antique sewing machine table that was turned into a vanity. In another post on our blog back in May, You Don’t Have To Live In a Cabin To Decorate With Primitives, we talked about how Primitive Decorations can be used in any type home and in any type setting. Whether you use one or two pieces, or if you decorate your entire home with Primitives, the choices are always endless. That’s what makes Primitive Decorations so popular and exciting!
Have you turned antique furniture pieces into Primitive Decorations? We would love to hear about it and see some pictures. Feel free to comment and remember you can upload YOUR pictures at the Pictures of Primitive Home Decorations section of our Primitive Home Decorations website.
After a much needed vacation, it’s nice to be able to add to the blog again. We also took a weekend trip to a really nice wine festival in Floyd VA where we stayed in a cute little cottage that had some neat decorations that we will be talking about in a future post. Read more…
Recently on our Primitive Home Decorations website, a Vintage Antique One Man Logging Saw sold for about $55.00, which is a great deal for such an item.

Although these type items are available by browsing the main page on our website or using the search feature, we don’t have categories set up for Antique & Vintage Tools…. YET!
When we decorate with Primitive Decorations, we need to “step outside the box”. Read more…

Mason Jars are just one of many items used when decorating with Primitive Decorations. Of the many different type items that are available to decorate with, mason jars are one of the most versatile.
Recently we used a primitive decorated mason jar to decorate our bathroom AND to save money! I bet you never thought decorating could save you money huh? Here is what we did. Read more…
One of the biggest misconceptions about Primitive Decorations is that you have to live in a cabin or in rustic looking home to use them. Primitives are great decorations for any type home.
In our travels we have seen some very elegant homes, and most would think from the outside that when you walked in, you would see crystal displays and expensive paintings on the walls. Read more…
